To be a RoSPA Gold Award winner organisations must have achieved a very high level of performance, demonstrating well developed occupational health and safety management systems, a culture that is aware of and able to identify potential hazards, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.

Rob was chosen to collect the award for the year on year improvements in health and safety at the Camberley site. He said: “I am honoured to receive this award on behalf of CLEAN and be counted among the companies demonstrating commitment to continuously improving health and safety standards.”

Graham Paterson, our site operation director says that health and safety is top of the agenda at CLEAN: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our people is our highest priority and ‘protecting people from harm’ is a mantra that is part of CLEAN’s DNA.”

The implementation of the STOP (Safety Total Observation Process) initiative, spearheaded by chief operating officer Bob King, demonstrates our relentless approach to health and safety standards. The programme is led by the general manager of each laundry and involves walking the factory floor identifying and resolving any hazards that have the potential to cause harm.

Bob says: “This award is a fantastic result for CLEAN and recognition of all the efforts the site teams, health and safety committees, and employees have made over the last year. This puts us alongside some world-leading companies and recognises the continued improvements we have made in our health and safety systems and processes.”

To date, through use of the STOP initiative, CLEAN has identified and prevented well over 1,000 risks that could have caused an accident or injury and we will continue this process every week.

Recognised internationally, the RoSPA Awards have become one of the most sought after accolades for many organisations from every industry sector. This is the fourth year in a row CLEAN has received a RoSPA Award which is evidence of an ongoing commitment to raising standards and improving health and safety alongside some of the country’s biggest company names including EDF Energy, DHL and Great Western Railway.
