CLEAN is delighted to have been shortlisted in the ‘Sustainable Supplier’ category of this year’s Footprint Awards having been named alongside 38 other companies, all of which are dedicated to sustainability and best practice in the hospitality and food service sector.
The Footprint Awards remain the only initiative to honour the achievements of companies in the area of sustainability and responsible business practice in the out of home sector and its supply chain. The awards are open to organisations at every stage in the food supply chain from growers, producers, manufacturers and distributors, through to all hospitality and foodservice operators in both public and private sectors, their suppliers and other stakeholders. Now into its seventh year, the awards have seen yet another record number of entries evidencing the increased importance placed on sustainability within the corporate policy mix.
At CLEAN, our environmental responsibility and the impact we have on our surroundings is extremely important to us. We have developed – and are continuously improving – an Environmental Management System to ensure that we meet and, where possible, exceed those responsibilities.
Developing an environmental stewardship culture across all our operations is a vital part of our ongoing supply chain strategy. Striving for excellence, we continue to map and measure opportunities to reduce energy consumption across all of our laundries, and have delivered a 39% reduction in our overall carbon footprint as measured by our Climate Change Agreement (CCA) scheme.
A credit to CLEAN in being shortlisted, winners will be announced at the Footprint Awards Dinner taking place on Thursday 25 May at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London. For more information on the awards and to see the full shortlist, please click here.
