CLEAN has been awarded the coveted ‘Sustainable Supplier’ title, sponsored by innocent drinks, at this year’s Footprint Awards (Thursday 25 May 2017) having beaten tough competition in the category from Nestle Professional UK and Carroll’s Heritage Potatoes, both of which are dedicated to sustainability and best practice in the hospitality and food service sector.
The Footprint Awards remain the only initiative to honour the achievements of companies in the area of sustainability and responsible business practice in the out-of-home sector and its supply chain. The awards recognise organisations at every stage in the food supply chain from growers, producers, manufacturers and distributors, through to all hospitality and foodservice operators in both public and private sectors, their suppliers and other stakeholders.
After a record number of entries; this year’s awards the importance of sustainability within the corporate policy mix for many hospitality businesses is evident.
Being a key part of the supply chain for our hotel customers, our environmental impact we have on our surroundings is extremely important to the many operators we work with across the UK. As sustainable practices continue to be a focus for businesses, as we all strive to be as socially responsible as possible, CLEAN has developed an Environmental Management System to ensure that we continually meet and exceed our green commitments.
Striving for everyday excellence, we continue to map and measure energy usage to reduce consumption across the business and have already achieved a 39% reduction in our overall carbon footprint, as measured by our Climate Change Agreement (CCA) scheme.
