Leading hospitality laundry CLEAN has scooped a prestigious industry accolades at the LCN Awards, held on 19 October.
CLEAN was honoured with the award for Sustainable and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’ at the ceremony, run by industry magazine Laundry and Cleaning News. The awards recognised the continuous improvement CLEAN has made to reduce energy consumption across all its laundry sites and transport fleet.
The success comes hot on the heels of CLEAN being shortlisted for a further five industry awards, which the company will find out if it has won in November of this year, and January 2018.
CLEAN has also been shortlisted in the 'Most Innovative Company' and 'Most Environmental and Sustainable Company' categories in the LADA awards, while Stephen Wild, transport team leader at the Camberley site has been nominated for the awards' 'Unsung Hero' title.
The LADAs, now in their third year, are run by Laundry and Cleaning Today and are designed to recognise and celebrate the best companies, skills and role models in the laundry and dry-cleaning market.
Winners of the awards will be announced in a glittering ceremony held at Mercedes Benz World on 2 November 2017.
Recognition of CLEAN's business credentials has also been made by The Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards who have chosen it as a finalist for the 'Dynamic Business of the Year Award'.
CLEAN is one of just seven businesses operating in the Thames Valley area to be shortlisted in the category for the awards, which recognise profitability, innovation and employment as well as the contribution to the local economic community.
The winning business will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday 16 November at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre at the Madejski Stadium in Reading.
Lastly, CLEAN have newly been announced as a finalist in the edie Sustainability Leaders Awards, where it will be competing against global companies for the title of ‘Sustainable building 2018’ after the opening of the world-class super-laundry in Slough earlier this year. Winners are to be announced at the London Hilton, Park Lane on 24 January 2018.
CLEAN's shortlist announcements come as it has also just celebrated winning the Green Apple Award for 'Environmental Best Practice'.
The award, from one of the world’s most respected recognition schemes for environmental endeavour, was given to CLEAN due to its impressive commitment to sustainability and investment in state-of-the-art equipment processes and systems which has helped it reduce its overall carbon footprint by 39%.
The awards, which are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and other independent bodies, will be presented at an impressive ceremony at the Houses of Parliament on 6 November.
CLEAN's Chief Executive said: “CLEAN has worked very hard in all areas of the business over the last year, so we are thrilled to have both won and be shortlisted for so many awards that recognise this. What is particularly encouraging is that we have been shortlisted for so many awards that recognise our innovation and dedication to sustainability, an area we have worked incredibly hard on this last year with the opening of our £15m super laundry in Slough. We excitedly await the results and look forward to celebrating the successes with our teams.”
