A Statement about the Fire at our Ross-on-Wye Laundry

Posted on May 03, 2022

On 2nd May 2022 a fire broke out at our laundry site in Netherton Road, Ross-on-Wye. Firstly, and most importantly, nobody was injured in the fire, and it has since been extinguished by the Hereford and Worcester Fire Service, helped by crews from the south Wales fire authorities. Currently the cause and origin investigation related to the fire is ongoing. CLEAN will be working with all the appropriate authorities to ensure that any lessons are learned, and any risks further reduced in the future.

A Statement about the Fire at our Ross-on-Wye Laundry - News - CLEAN Services

CLEAN would like to thank all the firefighters involved. The company would also like to take this opportunity to apologise to all local residents that may have been affected by the disruption caused as a result of the fire.

Our priority has been to provide all the support necessary for any colleagues affected, and to inform our customers serviced by the site. Unfortunately, although the fire service arrived quickly, the situation could not be contained rendering the laundry inoperable. We at CLEAN are now implementing our disaster recovery and contingency plans. We have sufficient capacity to absorb the linen and towelling processing volumes into our other laundries meaning that after some initial temporary disruption our service to most customers will resume today. We have offered our employees alterative work and are operating a bus service for our colleagues in production so they can work at other CLEAN laundry sites. Our delivery fleet was unaffected by the fire and therefore drivers and their vehicles will continue to service our customers as normal.
